Yellowstone's backcountry geysers can be just as spectacular as the ones popular with tourists, but minus the crowds. To reach Lone Star Geyser, you need to hike or mountain bike several miles along an old service road that starts near Kepler Cascades on the Grand Loop Road. Eruptions are pretty frequent, occurring every three hours or so and lasting for about 30 minutes each.
