Horseback Riding Details
Horseback riding is a popular activity in Yellowstone National Park, and guided horse rides are available in one and two-hour durations from Mammoth, Tower, and Canyon. Reservations are recommended. Backcountry trips with horses or llamas are available from stock outfitters that work in conjunction with the National Park. Private stock is permitted in the park, but due to wet trail conditions, are discouraged before July 1. Horses are prohibited in front country campgrounds, but are allowed in some backcountry sites.
