Grizzly Bears Details
Unarguably the most dangerous animals in Yellowstone National Park, grizzly bears are fascinating to watch through binoculars or telephoto lenses, but visitors should give them as much berth as possible, as they can be easily provoked. They are best seen at dusk and dawn, in open meadows and forests with little undergrowth. Most often sighted in the Hayden and Lamar Valleys, grizzly activity has also been reported in the Tower, Canyon Lake, and Fishing Bridge areas, as well as along many backcountry trails. Be prepared to react appropriately if the grizzly "sighting" happens a little too close for comfort.
