Fire Exhibit Details

Fires have repeatedly scorched Yellowstone over the past 12,000 years, and in 1988 wildfires burned one-third of the park and nearly destroyed the Old Faithful and Mammoth Hot Springs areas. The Fire Exhibit features a boardwalk leading to an observation platform where you can see the damage caused by a particularly intense forest fire that year.
