Climate Details

Yellowstone's climate is unpredictable. Most of the park is above 7,500 feet in elevation. It is snowy and cold in the winter, and even spring and fall can see significant snowfall. The park gets an average of 150 inches of snow annually. You can anticipate -- but not expect -- temperatures in the 70s or even 80s during summer days, but even in midsummer it can drop below freezing overnight at higher elevations. Bring a warm jacket and rain gear even in the summer.
