Phelps Lake Loop Details
Stunning views of the Teton Range reward hikers who take the loop trail around Phelps Lake. The trail starts in the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve, with the steepest sections near the beginning. The mostly forested trail will take you to the shore of Phelps Lake and around the 750-acre lake, with views of Death Canyon, Albright Peak, and Prospectors Mountain along the way. On the return half of the loop you'll pass backcountry campsites and a side trail to the scenic Huckelberry Point. You can connect to the Woodland Trail, the Boulder Ridge Trail, the Valley Trail, and the Lake Creek Trail from the Phelps Lake Loop trail. The trailhead is in the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve, off Moose-Wilson Road.
