Paintbrush-Cascade Loop Details
A spectacular hike, this backcountry loop combines Paintbrush and Cascade Canyons via Paintbrush Divide. The trail masses through marshes, foothills, ands subalpine forests, with visits to Holly Lake, Lake Solitude, and the top of Paintbrush Divide along the way. There are several backcountry campsites as well, but you'll need a permit for this. An ice axe and/or hiking poles may be necessary until August in Paintbrush Divide, where snow lingers well into summer. The trail begins at the String Lake Trailhead.
