Fishing
There are many lakes, streams, and ponds to fish, and licenses are required.
Plan Around Fishing
A good stop is not just something to read about. Once it belongs on the day, move into a saved trip and build the route around it.
Use this detail page to confirm that the stop is worth it, then carry that decision into a trip draft while the park context is still fresh.
Fishing Details
Parts of the Snake River and a number of lakes in the park are open for fishing, including Jackson Lake, Two Ocean Lake, Emma Matilda Lake, Jenny Lake, String Lake, Leigh Lake, and Phelps Lake. Cutthroat trout, lake trout, brook trout, and whitefish are among the game fish that anglers will find. Fishing is generally permitted during the summer months but closures and restrictions occur in the fall, winter and spring. Jackson Lake, for example, is closed to fishing during the month of October. A license is required and fishing is regulated by Wyoming state law. There are several companies licensed by the National Park Service to provide commercial fishing trips within the park, including: - [Grand Fishing Adventures](http://www.grandfishing.com) - [Grand Teton Lodge Company](http://www.gtlc.com) - [Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch](http://www.flaggranch.com) - [Jack Dennis Fishing Trips](http://www.jackdennis.com) - [Lost Creek Ranch](http://www.lostcreekadventures.com) - [Signal Mountain Lodge](http://www.signalmountainlodge.com) - [Snake River Angler](http://www.snakeriverangler.com) - [Triangle X/National Park Float Trips](http://www.trianglex.com)
