Dosewallips River Trail Details
Although the name of the river running along this stunning trail means "place of thieves," the Dosewallips River is more likely to produce bear, deer, elk, huckleberries, and columbine than brigands. The trail beings at Muscott Flat, and follows the river past Soda Springs and Calypso Falls before reaching its terminus at Hayden Pass. Often climbing well above the river, this trail leaves the old subalpine forest and passes through spectacular meadows and over small, spirited creeks before it reaches the Pass and its panoramas of the Bailey Range, Dosewallips Valley, Mount Anderson, and Sentinel Peak. From here, the trail continues to the Elwha River, but is renamed "Hayden Pass Trail."
