Cameron Creek Trail Details
Less traveled than many similar area trails, this pleasant, although generally underwhelming trail travels from Cameron Creek to Cameron Pass, losing and gaining elevation often. Departing from the mossy, fern-covered lowland forest along the creek, the trail passes through open meadows, avalanche slides, and forest of Engleman spruce, which can measure some 6 feet in diameter and reach up to 175 feet tall. Despite its many elevation changes, the trail contains few strenuous sections, and provides the distraction of the bubbling creek throughout its duration. The meadow near the end of the trail is the most picturesque point, and is filled with wildflowers, small waterfalls, and great views of McCartney Peak, Mount Cameron, and the Low Divide.
