Bogachiel River Trail Details
Coming from the Quileute phrase for "waters that become muddy following rainstorms," this riverside trail gains a lot of notoriety for its muddy, wet, obstacle-ridden paths and stunning ancient rainforests. Leaving the Bogachiel River valley behind as it slowly makes its way in and out of tall cedars, Stika spruce, ferns, and mosses, it forces hikers to fjord the multiple streams and creeks that cut through the soft bedrock and valley hillsides. Although the trail contains many elevation changes, few of the ascents and descents are particularly strenuous. After climbing up a tall ridge, the trail terminates at a junction with the Mink Lake-Little Divide Trail.
