The North Cascades is home to hundreds of species of mammals, birds, amphibians, fish, and insects, and many of these amazing creatures can be seen throughout the park. Visitors in the more popular areas of the park are likely to see Columbia blacktail deer, Douglas squirrels, pika, butterflies, dragonflies, banana slugs, swallows, grosbeaks, and owls.
