Goode Ridge Trail Details
The ascent over Goode Ridge is an excellent challenge for hikers who want extraordinary views that are a little off the beaten track. The trail climbs and climbs, setting off along the southern side of the ridge and ascending toward the first views into Bridge Creek Valley. The ascent continues, settling into a series of switchbacks as the surrounding forest begins to thin and give way to more views before quietly disappearing back into a dense hemlock grove. From here, it isn't long before the trail cuts back out to the spine of the ridge and heads south, where it ends amidst spectacular vistas of McGregor Mountain, Park and Bridge Creek drainages, and Glacier Peak. At 6,600 feet, the trail to the ridge was developed for the construction of a Lookout Tower that now lies in ruins, defeated by time and the elements. Camping is not permitted on Goode Ridge. Find the signed trailhead via the Old Wagon Trail, via Park Creek Pass or the Cascade Pass Trail via the Upper Stehekin Valley Trail.
