Camping Details
A range of camping options are available in North Cascades National Park, including primitive backcountry sites, wheelchair-accessible sites, tent sites, and small RV sites. Most sites offer fire rings and bear-resistant food containers, but only the developed campgrounds have toilets and potable water. There are five developed, car-accessible campsites and group sites throughout the park. Only Newhalem Campground takes reservations. Colonial Creek, Gorge Creek, and Goodell Creek Campground are open with limited facilities during the winter. Dump stations are available for small RVs, but there are no electric or water hookups, and many campgrounds cannot accommodate large RVs. Most car-accessible sites require fees. The 140 backcountry and boat-in campsites require free backcountry permits, which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis from most ranger stations and visitor centers.
