Cowlitz Glacier Details

The Cowlitz Glacier on the southeastern side of Mount Rainier covers 1.3 square miles. It starts at 10,700 feet on the eastern side of Cowlitz Cleaver and flows southeast, connecting with the Paradise Glacier to the southwest. The Cowlitz Glacier and the neighboring Ingraham Glacier to the east shared the same terminus until the mid 1800s. The Cowlitz drains into the Cowlitz River.
