Paradise Glacier Details
Located on the southeast side of Mount Rainier, Paradise Glacier covers .4 square miles and drains into the Cowlitz River. The glacier once contained ice caves, known as the Paradise Ice Caves, which were a series of interconnected caves open to visitors. More than 8 miles of caves were mapped in the late '70s, but the caves had completely disappeared by the 1990s due to recession from global warming. The Paradise Glacier currently flows from 9,000 feet to 6,400 feet, including the different sections.
