Lewis Falls Trail Details
You can choose to hike out-and-back from Skyline Drive (mile 51.4) to the 81-foot Lewis Falls (1 mile each way), or make a 3.3-mile loop beginning at the Big Meadows Amphitheater. Parts of this trail are steep and rocky, so be prepared for rugged footing. If you are hiking the full circuit, take the Lewis Falls Trail from the amphitheater to the falls, continue along the trail as it follows the stream, and turn north onto the Appalachian Trail to return to the amphitheater. This is a fantastic waterfall hike, but not as popular as some of the others in the park, perhaps due to the several steeper sections of trail.
