Doyles River Falls Details
This out-and-back hike is a great option if you don't have a full day to spend in the park but want a challenging jaunt to visit two of Shenandoah's many gorgeous waterfalls. Beginning at the Doyles River Falls Trailhead at mile 81.1 on Skyline Drive, take the blue-blazed Doyles River Trail. Hike down to the 28-foot upper falls, a 2.7-mile roundtrip trek, or continue to the 63-foot lower falls, making it a 3.2-mile round-trip (approximately 3 hours). If you're looking for a bigger challenge, it is possible to hook up with the Jones Run Trail for a more strenuous 7-mile loop hike.
