An easy day trip from Stowe, this 2.4-mile hike boasts one of the best views over Smugglers Notch. You will only gain about 900-feet elevation, so it is not an overly difficult hike, although there is a steep section when you are approaching Sterling Pond. The pond is a sight for sore eyes, with its bright blue waters and lush forest surroundings. It is a great place to swim, especially if you want to cool off from the last steep section of the trail.
