Ethan Allen Monument Details

Ethan Allen was one of the most influential figures in Vermont history. Not only was he an American Revolutionary War hero, but he is also credited as being one of the original founders of the state. Although he died two years before Vermont was accepted into the Union, his achievements are still recognized to this day, especially at this monument in the Green Mount Cemetery. This 35-foot-tall granite statue is topped by an 8-foot figure of Allen. It marks where he is believed to be buried, although historians suggest that he is actually located in an unmarked site several feet away.
