Covering over 900-acres of reedy wetlands, deciduous forests, and grassy pastures, this area is home to an impressive number of bird species. Over 100 different types of birds have been logged in this area, including bald eagles, Peregrine falcons, Black-crowned Night Herons, and Chimney Swifts. You will also see more common waterfowl wading along the Winooski River, especially near the islands. There are also numerous nature paths that lead around the park, where you can have many more opportunities to spot these magnificent creatures.
