Delta Park IBA Details
Hugging the mouth of the Winooski River, this natural wetland delta is a stop on the main migratory route for birds traveling down south. It also happens to be where many shorebirds, gulls, and waterfowl come to feed and rest. The park is extremely diverse (the entire area is a mix of marsh, swamp, forest, and beaches), and you will not have to look hard to find certain birds flying around the area. In addition to the 23 species of shorebirds and six species of heron that live in the park, you might also see endangered birds, including the Common Terns and Black Terns.
