Plan Around Mountain Lion
A good stop is not just something to read about. Once it belongs on the day, move into a saved trip and build the route around it.
Use this detail page to confirm that the stop is worth it, then carry that decision into a trip draft while the park context is still fresh.
Mountain Lion Details
Although they are seldom seen by park visitors, these majestic felines do live in Zion National Park, and can be extremely dangerous. Attacks on people or pets have never been reported in the park, but attacks have been confirmed in nearby areas. Visitors should never approach these beautiful creatures, but if a mountain lion does approach, try to look like a large, imposing threat: be bigger, stronger, and braver than the lion, but always give it room to escape. Visitors should report mountain lion sightings or encounters to park rangers as soon as possible.
