Heat Stroke Details
Heat stroke, often the result of untreated heat exhaustion, occurs when the body becomes unable to regulate its temperature and succumbs to both the heat of movement and the heat from the sun. Symptoms are easily recognizable and include flushed, dry skin, weakness, a high body temperature, confusion, poor judgment, unconsciousness, and in severe cases, seizures. Victims need to be cooled down as quickly as possible, and should be moved out of the sun, and stripped of excess clothing. Pour cold water on the head and torso, and fan the air around them. Seek help immediately, as heatstroke requires hospital care.
