Climbing Details
Famous for massive, open cliff walls, Zion National Park is a favorite for climbers in search of big wall climbs. Although most walls are open year round, some areas may be closed for preservation purposes, like peregrine falcons nesting on the Great White Throne during the late spring. Permits are not required for day climbs, but are necessary for all overnight climbs. All climbs in the park require advanced skills and technical hardware. Inexperienced climbers are strongly discouraged from attempting to climb Zion's walls.
