Black Widow Spiders Details
Infamously known as the most venomous spider in North America, these small black and red spiders are occasionally spotted in Zion National Park. While bites are rarely reported, they do occur, and although the small amount of venom that these spiders inject with their bites won't cause human death, they can produce some nasty reactions. The venom typically causes pain both around the bite and in the abdomen and lower back, often accompanied by abdominal cramping. Bitten visitors experiencing nausea, increased sweating, tremors, increased blood pressure, or trouble breathing after a spider bite should seek immediate medical attention.
