Loa Details

With a population just shy of 600, the small town of Loa sits about 28 miles west of Fruita along Hwy. 24. A post office has been in operation here since 1879, and the town is named for Mauna Loa, Hawaii, from whence a Mormon missionary returned and so christened it. There's a Texaco gas station in Loa, as well as a few small motor lodges.
