Driving Directions Details
In south-central Utah, Capitol Reef National Park is 100 miles long but quite narrow, offering access via both Interstate 70 and Interstate 15 to the park's north and west. Those traveling westbound on I-70 should get off at exit 149 onto UT-24 west toward Hanksville, and continue for 44 miles. Turn right to continue on UT-24 west for another 37 miles and the Capitol Reef Visitor Center will be on the left. Those traveling eastbound on I-70 will get off on exit 40, and then turn right onto UT-120 south, continuing for a little over a mile. Turn left onto UT-118 north and continue for almost a mile before making a slight right onto UT-119 east. Continue for 8.8 miles before turning right onto UT-24 east for 63 miles. The Capitol Reef Visitor Center will be on the right. Those traveling northbound on I-15 will get off at exit 95 and take UT-20 toward US-89/ Panguitch/Circleville, continuing for 20 miles. Turn left onto US-89 north and continue for another 21 miles before turning right onto UT-62 for 12 more miles. Turn left onto UT-62 north and continue for a little over 30 miles, then turn right onto UT-24 east and continue for 47 more miles. The Capitol Reef Visitor Center will be on the right. Those traveling southbound on I-15 will get off at exit 188 and take US-50 east toward Scipio, turning left onto UT-50 and continuing for a little less than a mile. Turn right onto US-50 east/ North State Street and continue for 24 miles, then turn right onto UT-260 south and continue for 4 miles. Turn right onto UT-24 east and continue for 2 more miles before making a slight left to stay on UT-24 east and drive for an additional for 71.3 miles. The Capitol Reef Visitor Center will be on the right.
