Events and Festivals Details
The annual [Bryce Canyon Astronomy Festival](https://www.nps.gov/brca/planyourvisit/astrofest.htm) is the highlight of the park's event calendar: held each June, it draws amateur astronomers and stargazers from all over the world to experience the wonders of the galaxy from one of the darkest corners of North America. The four-day festival includes instructional sessions, lectures, solar observations, and lots and lots of night-sky viewing. The park also holds a [Geology Festival](https://www.nps.gov/brca/learn/news/geofestnews.htm) every summer, with special ranger-led programs, expert presentations, children's programs, and more. Ruby's Inn sponsors the annual Bryce Canyon Winter Festival in February, and the park is the scene for a variety of running events, including long-distance trail runs in June, a half marathon and 5k in July, and a rim run in August. Also in August there's a fly-in and car show at the Bryce Canyon Airport, and Ruby's also hosts a big New Year's Eve celebration. Finally, the [Garfield County Fair](http://garfield.utah.gov/departments/county-fair/) is held over five days in August, as well.
