Auto Touring Details

The 18-mile (one-way) scenic drive in Bryce Canyon National Park includes 14 viewpoints, including such must-sees as the Sunrise, Sunset, Inspiration, and Bryce overlooks at the Bryce Amphitheater. Most of the viewpoints in the northern end of the park require a stop at a parking lot and a short walk to the canyon's edge, or you can combine a few by walking along the trail that runs along the canyon rim. In the south part of the park are some less-visited but still beautiful scenic stops, where you can see smaller amphitheaters and 100-mile views that include the nearby Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. If you just make quick stops you can see all of the viewpoints in as little as 3 or 4 hours. Park officials recommend stopping at the viewpoints as you head north on the scenic drive since they will be an easier and safer right turn going in this direction.
