Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site Details

Explore over 12,000 years worth of history during your visit to his historic park in Val Verde. This place is famous for its rock art paintings, which can be found in the caves in Fate Bell and Lower Pecos River Country. The most famous of the 200 paintings is the Panther, which is believed to be over 7,000 years old. Ranger-led tours are required if you plan on hiking. These guided hikes take you to the rock art sites and around some of the most popular trails in the park. The Upper Canyon Hike is a great option if you also want to learn more about the park's railroad and military history. To make the most of your visit, you can also spend the night inside the park. There are plenty of RV hookups and campsites with restroom and shower facilities.
