San Solomon Springs Details
Part swimming pool part lake, these natural springs are located in the middle of Balmorhea State Park and boast refreshingly cool waters attracting both swimmers, sunbathers, and nature lovers. The swimming part of the springs are just under 2-acres wide, which is more than enough space to find your own spot to hang out away from the crowds. The waters are also surprisingly deep, and there are many marine creatures that live near the sandy bottoms of the springs. Not only are there many different kinds of fish, but the springs are also home to native Texas spiny softshell turtles. Bring your snorkel mask and see for yourself what lurks beneath the springs surface. In addition to swimming, the park is also a great place for camping, wildlife watching, and birding.
