This sprawling 1356-mile loop takes you deep in the wild west of Texas. You will see diverse landscapes of the Chihuahuan Desert, the Edwards Plateau, and the Brush County at one of the many state parks scattered around the area. Seminole Canyon State Park and Historic site have Native American pictographs, while Balmorhea State Park is home to the world's largest spring swimming pool. In addition to the natural landscapes, you also get the chance to see many historic towns and communities of the 22 counties along the trail. Visit Sonora to learn about Will Carver and the Wild Bunch at the Sonora House Ranch Museum, or explore years of WWII aviation history at the Midland Army Air Field Museum.
