Big Spring State Park Details
The 200-foot-high limestone mesa, and views it offers, are the highlight of this park. Located within the city of Big Spring, the 382-acre park is a popular early morning destination for walkers and joggers looking to get a little exercise and enjoy the sunset from the top. The park, and city, were named for a natural spring that was replaced by an artificial one. Each year there is an extensive Fourth of July fireworks display - one of the largest in the area. There is also an interpretive center located at the entrance for visitors interested in learning more about the varying ecosystems which surround the park.
