Dog Canyon Details
Dog Canyon is located in the northern area of the park, off of state road 137. It is more remote and less frequently visited than many other areas of the park, so visitors who want to get away from the crowds will enjoy the waking and hiking trails here, as well as the campgrounds and horse stables. The canyon is largely forested, and cooler than other areas of the park as well. There is a ranger station here, which is staffed intermittently. A ranger also lives on-site in a cabin near the visitor center. In addition to the campground and horse corrals there is a parking lot, bathrooms and picnic area here.
