Camping Details
There are two campgrounds at the park: Pine Springs campground, just off Highway 180/62 at the southern entrance to the park, and Dog Canyon campground at the northern entrance to the park. Located in the open desert at the base of Guadalupe Peak, Pine Springs campground has 20 tent sites and 19 RV sites. Tent sites are capped at six people, or two tents per sites. There are no hook-us or dump stations. However you will have access to potable water, restrooms with flush toilets, pay phones and a soft drink machine. There is an external faucet were RVs can fill their water tanks. Dog Canyon campground is cooler and more forested. There are nine tent sites and four RV sites (no hook up, no dump station), with sinks, flush toilets and potable water. No showers at either campground. Campsites are all first-come first-served, and cost $8.00 per night, or $4 for seniors or Golden Age Pass holders. Check in at the self-registration board. Pine Springs also has two group sites, and Dog Canyon has one group site, for up to ten people. These sites cost $3.00 per person, or $1.50 for Golden Age Pass holders. You can reserve the group sites, up to two months in advance.
