Located in the southwest corner of Texas, Big Bend is rather remote, so planning your trip carefully is recommended. There is no public transportation to or from the park. The highways that lead to the park are: TX 118 from Alpine to Study Butte, FM 170 from Presidio to Study Butte (then 26 miles east to the park headquarters). You can also follow US 90 or US 385 to Marathon (then just 70 miles south to the park headquarters).
