Osprey Trail Details
Along the southwest shores of the Pactola Reservoir you'll find the trailhead for the Osprey Trail, a 2.2-mile loop that climbs up to a scenic overlook spur trail with views of the lake. The trail gets its name from the fish-eating birds that call Pactola Lake home. Osprey make their nests high up in trees and dive down into the lake to catch their food. The trail does not gain a significant amount of elevation. To get to the trailhead, take FSR 258 to FSR 545. The trailhead is one mile down FSR 545. Visitors need to purchase a day-use fee in order to park at the trailheads during the summer season.
