Candlelight Tour Details
For the more adventurous visitor, the Candlelight Tour offers an opportunity to see some of the less-traveled sections of the cave without electric lighting. On this tour you'll carry a candle bucket to experience the cave the way the first explorers did hundreds of years ago. You'll visit many of the cave's major "rooms" including the Dinosaur Room, Elks Room, Fallen Flats, the Blue Grotto, and the Temple. You'll cover more rugged trails on the Candlelight Tour than on many of the other cave tours. You'll enter the cave via elevator, then travel 2/3 of a mile through the cave. The tour lasts around two hours and is offered daily at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. during the peak summer months (early June through early August) and at 1:30 p.m. only the rest of the year. Minimum age for this tour is eight years old. Reservations are not required, but are strongly recommended.
