Bison Flats Details
Bison Flats is a large area of prairie, south of the Wind Cave Visitor Center. It is home to one of the park's largest prairie dog towns as well as large herds of buffalo and Pronghorn Antelope. The Cold Brook Canyon Trail and the East Bison Flats Trail go through this region of the park. Highway 385 travels directly down the middle of the Bison Flats, so whether you want to explore on foot or from your car, you'll have ample opportunity to observe wildlife.
