Wildlife Details

Reintroduction of four species has occurred in Badlands since 1939: bighorn sheep, bison, swift foxes, and the black-footed ferret; now, each species thrives in this wild area. Other mammals who make their homes in the park are badgers, pronghorns, cottontails, bobcats, and prairie dogs. You'll find turtles, bull snakes, and rattlesnakes.
