Kid-Friendly Options Details
All curious kids who want to be explorers and adventurers can join the Badlands Junior Ranger Program. This year-round program features an exciting adventure activities book and a park movie, Land of Stone and Light. June through August are key times to learn about the park's many formations, plants, and animals as a Junior Ranger. At the end of the program, kids get a badge signifying their status as an official Badlands National Park Junior Ranger. Inquire at the Ben Reifel Visitor Center for more details. The Fossil Exhibit Trail is very kid-friendly, as well as the Cliff Shelf Nature Trail. The formations make it look like another planet for children.
