Badlands Loop Road Details
The 31-mile scenic Badlands Loop Road features incredible views of cliffs, spires, and buttes as it traverses Badlands National Park. Along the way you can stop at 15 scenic overlooks as well as accessing the park's trails and visitor center. In fact, the road provides access to the vast majority of Badlands National Park's attractions. The road runs west-east from the Pinnacles Entrance of the park to the Ben Riefel Visitor Center, where it turns north to the Northeast Entrance before exiting the park. The road, also known as Highway 240, intersects with I-90 at Cactus Flat (exit 131); drive west on the interstate to exit 110 (Wall, S.D.), then rejoin Highway 240 south to return to the park and complete the "loop."
