Paddling Details
Cedar Creek is the major waterway within the park, and the canoe trail winds 15 miles through the wilderness, primeval old-growth forest and some of the tallest trees in eastern North America. In addition, the Congaree River Blue Trail is a 50-mile paddling trail that extends from Columbia downstream into Congaree National Park. Whichever you choose to paddle, you'll need to plan ahead and bring your own canoe or kayak, or rent one from an outfitter in Columbia. The park offers paddling trip ideas, ranging from a few hours to a few days; check the website and choose the one that's best for you.
