Union Peak Trail Details
This is one of the longer hikes in the park. Join up with the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) off of route 62, on the southern border of the park. Hike south on the PCT for several miles before reaching a spur trail that takes you to the summit of Union Peak. You'll continue to journey through the forest for another few miles, and then pop out of the treeline to wind up on the exposed final segment to the summit. The hike is five-and-a-half miles (one way) from the PCT trailhead to the summit, and gains around 1,500 feet, so plan for this to be a very long day hike or an overnight trip.
