Annie Creek Canyon Trail Details

Annie Creek Canyon is a deep canyon near the park amphitheater, filled with wildflowers, steep rock walls, and rushing water. The 1.7-mile hiking trail starts from the amphitheater, and runs south along the canyon rim for a third of a mile before switchbacking 200 feet down into the bottom of the canyon. You then walk along the creek for around a mile, where you can see the Annie Creek Pinnacles, an interesting geological formation of volcanic rock embedded in the canyon walls. Next, the trail switchbacks up 200 feet to the canyon rim, and heads back to the Mazama Village Campground. Annie Creek provides most of the drinking water for the park. Estimate around one and a half hours for this moderate hike.
