Virginia Kendall Park Details
If you're visiting the Cuyahoga Valley during the winter, then the Kendall Lake area in Peninsula is the place to be for free outdoor fun in the snow. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park's Winter Sports Center is located at the Kendall Lake Shelter and offers snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Hot drinks are served in the historic shelter building, constructed of native chestnut and sandstone by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The Winter Sports Center is generally open on weekends when there's at least four inches of snow on the ground. Kendall Hills, located on Quick Road near Kendall Lake, has separate sledding areas for toboggans and sleds. Join the kids for some downhill fun, or just soak in the beautiful winter scenery.
