Pine Grove Trail Details
This level trail leaves the Octagon Shelter, a Conservation Corps construction outfitted with grills, picnic tables, and recreation areas, and follows short boardwalks to the northernmost point of the trail, marked by the convergence of three creeks at the bottom of the ravine. The trail's namesake pine groves, which are predominately red pine (look for red bark and needles in clusters of two) were planted in the 1930s during reforestation efforts, and have become one of the park's most stunning forests.
