Octagon Trailhead Details
This large picnic area is located at the Octagon Trailhead, just off Truxell Road. There are approximately twenty two picnic tables, twenty one barbecue grills, a semi-permanent restroom and water foundations available. The Octagon Shelter is named for its shape. During the summer months the walls are removed; they are in place from about October 15 to May 1. The Octagon Shelter is also near the Ritchie Ledges, hiking trails, and a large field. There are seven indoor picnic tables, two fireplaces, and an outside grill. It accommodates up to 50 people. Fees are $110 weekends and holidays, and $80 weekdays. To make a reservation or to obtain more information about shelter rentals, contact Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association at (330) 657-2909 ext. 119 on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
