Top Events Details
The park hosts a number of events each year. The Dakota Nights Astronomy Festival is a three day celebration each September bringing astronomers, historians, and enthusiasts to the park for star viewing, educational presentations, hikes, and much more. Every December, volunteers at the park participate in the nationwide Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Volunteers spread out around the park to record sightings of bird species and types to aid scientists who study bird populations and habitats. Ranger events include guided full-moon hikes and Night Prowls on moonless nights.
